A Strong Start in Washington
Our new Washington Region is off to a fantastic start! From engaging peer discussions to a successful inaugural conference, association professionals across the state are showing up, sharing ideas, and building connections.
Off to a Strong Start
In early September, we brought association professionals together in Lacey, just outside the state capital of Olympia, for a Peer-Powered Lunch focused on non-dues revenue. The topic clearly resonated, drawing attendees from across the region and exceeding registration expectations. The strong turnout was an encouraging sign of the appetite for opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and tackle common challenges with fellow association professionals.
Next Wave Makes a Splash!
That momentum carried right into October with our inaugural Next Wave Conference, held October 4–6 at the beautiful and serene Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA. The event exceeded attendance expectations, welcoming association professionals and industry partners from across Washington, Oregon, and California. More than a successful first conference, Next Wave was a powerful example of what our growing community makes possible: fresh perspectives, shared experiences, and valuable connections that reach beyond state lines. We are very thankful to the conference partners and sponsors who gave us support and also brought plenty of personality to the event with gift baskets, sweet treats, and even a little karaoke. All in all, a memorable gathering that struck a balance between professional growth and meaningful connection.
And the feedback speaks for itself! Post-event survey results show over 70% of attendees rating the conference as very or extremely valuable. It's an encouraging endorsement of the experience and a strong foundation to build on. With a successful first year behind us, planning for Next Wave 2027 is already underway! Stay tuned for more details.
Keeping the Momentum Going
And we're just getting started! The Washington Regional Council is already hard at work creating more opportunities for members to connect and learn, including a CEO Lunch, upcoming socials in November and February, and another Peer-Powered Lunch in March.
These gatherings are about more than filling an events calendar. They're about building a strong, engaged community where association professionals can find trusted peers, exchange ideas, and support one another year-round.
Washington's early success is an exciting milestone for Associations West as a whole. As our community grows, so do the opportunities to learn from new perspectives and build relationships within the region as well as all along the West Coast.
Here's to the current success and all that's ahead!
