Professional Bio
Through the Capitol Event Center, he partners regularly with associations and nonprofits, offering accessible, flexible event services that support advocacy, education, and community engagement. Located steps from the California State Capitol, his venue also serves as a civic hub for policy discussions, legislative events, and grassroots organizing.
Marques is the curator of the nationally recognized #RealTalk webinar series, which offers brave, transparent conversations around identity, accessibility, and allyship in the meetings profession. In 2025, he brought the series to a national stage as a featured speaker at MPI’s WEC25 conference in St. Louis.
Outside of his professional roles, Marques is a husband, father, youth mentor, and internationally ranked spoken word artist. His work bridges hospitality, advocacy, and entrepreneurship, reflecting a personal mission to make the events industry more welcoming, representative, and human-centered. Whether through inclusive programming, intentional leadership, or strategic partnerships, Marques is focused on building spaces where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to lead.
