Packing List

Come as you are — business casual is the norm, and you'll be right at home in jeans and comfy shoes. Semiahmoo sits right on the water in the Pacific Northwest, so pack layers: October days can be crisp and evenings cool, with a chance of rain. A light rain jacket or shell is a smart addition alongside your usual layers. If you're joining sunrise yoga Mon or Tues morning (7–8:00 AM, free), bring workout clothes. And don't forget a refillable water bottle — filling stations will be available throughout the conference.

Conference Features

This year's schedule builds in real space to connect and recharge:

  • Sunrise yoga — free, optional, Monday and Tuesday mornings from 7:00–8:00 am
  • Setting Sail: First-timer & new member meet-up — Sunday afternoon, a low-key way for newcomers to start making connections before the full conference kicks off. There's also a virtual meetup before the conference, Sept 30 from 1-2:00 pm, register here.
  • Sunday evening activities (sign up by 9/28) — pick between board games, a cocktail competition, or karaoke.

To sign up ensure you are LOGGED IN > scroll down then chose your activity from the registration list > proceed to check out to add the activity to your existing registration. No walk ins, preregistration required.

  • Half-hour networking and exhibiting breaks — Take time between learning sessions to chat with industry partners and other colleagues.
  • Up to 8 CAE credits available across the keynotes and concurrent education sessions.

General Tips
  • The Rule of Two Feet: If a session isn't serving you, feel free to step out and find one that will (or take a break — see below).
  • Look for quiet spots around the resort if you need a breather between sessions.
  • Keep an eye out for our sponsors and volunteers throughout the conference — they help make the Next Wave Conference possible.
  • Cancellations: Refund requests must be submitted by email to Jessica Barker by September 14, 2026. No refunds after this date, but substitutions are always welcome. See the full Meeting & Event Policies for details.
